TERRAIN
Moderately hilly forested terrain with many paths and forest roads. Some open areas and cultivated fields. Lots of contour features, in some areas very detailed. Plenty of marshes of different size. Mixed forest of different age with very varying runnability. Runnability is often reduced by undergrowth and fallen trees. Height differences up to 30 m.
MAPS
Model Event: scale 1:15000 and 1:10000, contour interval 2.5 m.
Qualification Race: scale 1:15000, contour interval 2.5 m, size 255mm x 275mm.
Classic Distance Final: scale 1:15000, contour interval 2.5 m,
size 265mm x 335mm.
Relay: scale 1:10000, contour interval 2.5 m, size 255mm x 330mm.
Maps are sealed in plastic bags.
Stormy weather during the summer has caused changes in runnability of some areas. Map symbol 409.0 (undergrowth, difficult to run) shows those areas with fallen trees.
Competition maps will be distributed to team leaders in the information centre at finish area after the last runner has started.

The first 6 competitors in individual A final race and 3 best relay teams will receive prizes. Prizes will be awarded at the finish area.
MODEL EVENT
There will be 13 controls set out representing, as far as possible, typical features of the terrain that will be encountered in competitions. If taken in order (from 31 to 43), they make a course of 6.05 km with 150 m climb.
The course is open from 10:00 to 17:00. The start procedure will be operating between 10:00 and 13:00 only. If you arrive during these hours, you may give your map to an official and you will be demonstrated the start procedure used in the individual races. Competitors, who want to run with an e-card, can get it from the official at start area. There will be no timekeeping at the model event.
TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Training prior to or during the event can be done at a nearby terrain. Maps are available at the competition office for 25 EEK. There are two training courses set on the terrain with control flags only.

The bus transport between accommodation and competition area is free for competitors, team officials and media representatives. Private transport can be used to all events, except to the start area of the classic distance final after 9:45 on Sept. 27.
