EMBARGOED AREA 

Area around village Haanja, 14 km to South from Võru.

TERRAIN

Competition terrain (village Haanja) is situated 14 km to South from Võru.
Haanja Upland - situating ca 250 m above sea level. Relative differences in height up to 70 m. Between the hills there is plenty of marshes. Lot of tracks and paths. Forest varying with open cultivated lands. Percentage of open areas 20-30 %. Competition terrain was used partially for Ski-O World Cup in 1995 and Estonian Ski-O Championships in 2000.

MAPS

Laser colour-printed ski-O maps: field work – summer-autumn 2002, scale 1:15 000 (long distance), 1:10 000 (short distance), contour interval 5m, size – max 30x30 cm.
Competition maps will be distributed to team leaders at finish area after the last runner (World Cup or WMOC) has started on March 2 (approx. 12:00).

MODEL EVENT

Model event at Kurgjärve Sport Centre. The course is open from 10:00 to 14:00. The start procedure will be operating from 10:00 to 13:00. There is possible test ski wax. Model event maps scale 1:15 000 and 1:10 000, contour interval 5m, laser colour-printed.

NUMBER BIBS

Will be handed out at team leaders’ meeting. Number bibs have to be attached to competitor’s left leg.

SKI EQUIPMENT CHANGE

Ski equipment changes allowed only at map exchange area at marked control in forest. The equipment to be taken to the forest should be brought to marked area at the results board no later than 30 minutes before first start on each day. Men’s and women’s equipment must be in separate ski-bags labelled with the team’s country note.

DRINKING and REFRESHMENT

There will be water and tea after finish both days. In long distance on February 28, there will be 3 refreshment controls with water and/or "Dexal Light" sport drink at marked controls in forest:
M21 – 22%, 51%, 77%
W21 – 29%, 55%, 82%
In short distance on March 2nd, there will be refreshment control showed on the map, but it's not situated at any of the controls.

SKI WAXING and WAX TESTING

There is possible hold and wax skis inside or very close at hotels. Ski waxing tent with electricity and tables (but not special equipment) also at start/finish area. Wax testing area situated very close at start/finish area.

PRIZEGIVING

The first 6 competitors in both days will receive IOF medals and prizes, witch will be awarded at the finish area. (see programme).

PUNCHING SYSTEM

SPORTIdent system will be used for all classes. The organisers will charge 25 EUR for lost borrowed SI-card.

SHOWERS and TOILETS

Showers are not available at finish area. Showers are only at hotels. There will be only dressing rooms at finish area (School building). Toilets situated very close at finish area (inside and near by school building).

TRANSPORT 

Organizers will guarantee free transport from accommodation place to model and competition areas and back during the World Cup. Also there is minibus transport for team leaders between hotels and Event Centre to take part in team leaders meetings. Transport officer - Mati Poom +372 5074686
